COST INFORMATION: $6,950

We’ve worked hard to design an experience that is both extraordinary and accessible. The total cost of the Kilimanjaro Alumni Expedition reflects the quality of the guides, accommodations, and support provided throughout your journey—from the trail to the safari. Below, you’ll find a detailed breakdown of what’s included in your trip cost, along with a few required expenses to consider as you prepare. Our goal is to ensure transparency and help you plan with confidence.

We endeavor to make our expedition experiences as “all inclusive” as possible to make budgeting easier for travelers. The following major items are included in this price:

WHAT IT INCLUDES:

  • All meals

  • All accommodations (lodges, safari tents, camping)

  • Tips for mountain guides/porters and safari guides/staff

  • Tents (rented from our guides)

  • Camping equipment (rented from our guides)

  • Sleeping bag (rented from our guides)

  • Sleeping mat (rented from our guides)

  • Transfers to/from the airport

WHAT IT DOES NOT INCLUDE:

These are the critical items you will need that is not included in this price:

  • International airfare: While flights are not yet available to book or benchmark precisely, typical roundtrip fares from DFW to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) generally range between $1,400 and $1,700, depending on the season and booking timeline.

  • Tanzania entry visa: $100. Once you are accepted into the program, we will walk you throught. the process of obtaining an online Tanzanian entry visa. It’s easy, but we can’t do it for you.

  • Personal emergency rescue insurance: Costs fluctuate according to health and age, but coverage typically costs $150-250. The two popular rescue insurance providers for most American Kilimanjaro climbers are World Nomads and True Traveller.

  • Anti-Altitude Sickness Medication: Many Kilimanjaro climbers opt to take Diamox medication to prevent altitude sickness. All expedition participants will be given information about anti-altitude sickness medication and will work with their physician to determine whether or not this is the right choice for them.

  • Rental gear: If you don’t already own all the gear required for the climb, there’s no need to make a major investment. Our local guides offer reliable, high-quality rental options to ensure you’re fully equipped. Please note that the expedition cost does not include rental gear beyond the standard group equipment provided. All selected participants will receive a detailed packing list well in advance to help you identify what you may need to rent or purchase ahead of time.
