Learn, work, and explore London.
The published London program describes professional experiences across fields such as business, entrepreneurship, and the humanities. Internships are unpaid. Students may pursue internship-and-study or academic options, with coursework and fees depending on the pathway.
Study + internship
Includes one AES/UConn course plus an internship placement, supervision, assessment and internship seminar; housing and London cultural activities are listed among the inclusions.
Academic program only
Includes two AES/UConn courses, eight weeks of housing, cultural activities, an orientation and travel benefits. A UConn transcript may carry an additional fee if required.
Professional internship only
The brochure does not publish a fixed price for this option. Request the latest fee breakdown and clarify any required ACU online internship coursework.
What the internship pathway includes
- Internship placement sourcing, supervision, and assessment for eight weeks, up to 20 hours per week
- On-site staff support and orientation
- Pre-departure advising and an internship seminar
- Eight weeks of shared, furnished accommodation
- Cultural activities and London sightseeing orientation
- Travel card for London zones 1 and 2
Explore available courses
The brochure says students must take an online ACU Internship Course for internship participation. It also lists these optional local course offerings:
- ECON 261 — Principles of Microeconomics
- GLST 212 — British Life and Culture
- SOCI 480 — Inequality and Social Justice
- COMM — The Effects of Mass Media
- BLAW — The Law and Ethics of Global Commerce
Courses are arranged with UConn. Confirm course approval, credit transfer, and how the required ACU internship course applies to your pathway with your academic advisor. The ViaTRM Summer 2027 term card currently displays “0” credits, which does not itself resolve the academic requirements.
Budget for additional expenses
The brochure lists visa fees, AES fees, transcript fees, flights, and insurance as potential costs outside the quoted program fee. It mentions a $500 UConn transcript fee if a transcript is required, and an older UK visa amount of £524 as of September 2023—not a current quote. One ViaTRM inclusion panel lists international medical insurance, while a separate fee paragraph excludes medical insurance; ask ACU which coverage is included before publishing a definitive statement.
Interested in a future London internship?
The ViaTRM listing identifies the Summer 2027 application as closed, with a published November 1, 2026 deadline. Review the brochure and contact Darya Bontempo at drb24b@acu.edu about future availability and the correct program budget.
Before you take the next step.
Do internship dates change by year?
Yes, they may. The published Leipzig and Honduras listings show 2025 dates. The London brochure lists June 6–August 1, 2027; the Summer 2027 application is marked closed. Contact Study Abroad for confirmed dates for the term in which you want to participate.
Do I receive academic credit?
The original Leipzig listing says all participating students must take an online Internship Course through ACU. The London brochure also states that internship students must take an ACU online Internship Course and lists optional UConn local courses. Verify credits, course approval, and transcript requirements with Study Abroad and your academic advisor.
Are the Leipzig ministry internships open to all majors?
No. The original descriptions specify Bible/ministry majors and say the internships meet practical ministry internship requirements in CBS and GST. Confirm current approval before enrolling.
Is an Oxford internship available?
Oxford appears in the older page's destination navigation, but that page does not currently provide an Oxford internship description or application. Ask the Study Abroad team whether any Oxford placements are planned.
Does the ViaTRM link mean applications are open?
Not necessarily. It leads to the existing program brochure. Application status and availability should be confirmed in ViaTRM or with ACU Study Abroad.
Where do I find general application information?
See the How to Apply page for published general steps, timelines, and application requirements. Internship-specific details may differ.
