Key application dates
The dates below reflect the application schedule currently published by ACU Study Abroad. Confirm deadlines for your intended program and application cycle before submitting.
Begin your application in the student portal.
Submit a complete packet for priority consideration.
Priority applicants are notified of admission status.
Published final application deadline.
Applicants after the priority deadline are notified.
Remaining-space applications close by this date, or sooner if a program fills.
Sign within seven days of receiving the admission notification.
Complete mandatory pre-departure orientation activities.
Applications may be accepted on a rolling basis only for programs with space remaining. Applications close once a program is full or on March 1, whichever comes first.
Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance. Apply early and make sure all materials are accurate and complete.
What happens next?
Once you submit a complete application, the Study Abroad office reviews your materials and contacts you if anything else is needed.
From admission to departure
- Watch for your admission decision. Notifications follow the published October 15 and November 15 dates.
- Review and sign the participation contract. Accepted students receive the contract with their admission notification and must sign within seven days to secure their place.
- Complete pre-departure requirements. Look for office communications about orientation, travel, academics, health and safety, and program expectations.
- Attend mandatory orientation. Continued participation depends on completing all required orientation activities.
Understand withdrawal responsibilities
Once you've been accepted and signed the Student Contract, you assume financial responsibility for the program. Please review the full contract and handbook before signing.
Standard withdrawal fee
Students who later withdraw or become ineligible to participate are charged the standard $250 withdrawal fee.
Additional program-fee charge
An additional fee equal to 25%, 50%, or 100% of the program fee applies based on the withdrawal date, as outlined in the Student Contract and Handbook.
Students must submit the required ACU IP Withdrawal Form ↗ to Study Abroad. A verbal conversation, email, or text message does not constitute official withdrawal or initiate the withdrawal process. Missing a required event, including orientation, also does not automatically withdraw a student or remove financial obligations.
Read the ACU Study Abroad/IP Student Contract ↗ and 2026–2027 International Programs Student Handbook ↗ for the full policy and withdrawal timing.
Application FAQs
What do I need before I apply?
Your ACU Banner ID and password, your chosen program, an ACU faculty/staff reference's ACU email address, and a credit card for the $75 application fee. Your completed application and digital reference must be received for review.
Can I apply after November 1?
Potentially. Applications may be accepted on a rolling basis if space remains, up to March 1 or until the program reaches capacity, whichever comes first.
How can I strengthen my application?
Submit a complete, thoughtful application by the priority deadline, check your information carefully, and respond promptly to Study Abroad office requests. Space may be limited, and applying does not guarantee selection.
When will I hear about my application?
Published admission notification dates are October 15 for priority applicants and November 15 for applicants after the priority deadline. The Study Abroad office will contact you if additional information is needed.
What if I'm accepted?
You'll receive a participation contract with your admission notice. Sign it within seven days to secure your place, then follow the office's preparation and orientation instructions.
Are pre-departure orientations required?
Yes. Attendance and completion of all required orientation activities are mandatory. Orientations are generally held in February for summer programs, April for fall programs, and November for spring programs. Your confirmed details will arrive by email.
How do I officially withdraw?
Use the official ACU IP Withdrawal Form. An email, text, or conversation alone does not initiate the process. Consult the program policies and handbook for fee details.
